This single-family house is designed on a compact 30’ × 45’ plot and is characterised by a cascading built-form that lends the home a friendly, informal character. Planned as a four-bedroom residence, the house is organised around a series of visually connected spaces that encourage interaction and togetherness.
Two bedrooms are located on the ground floor, along with living and dining areas that flow into one another. A double-height dining space forms the heart of the home, reinforcing its role as the primary gathering area and allowing light and air to penetrate deep into the plan.
The upper floor accommodates a large family lounge that overlooks the dining space below, along with two additional bedrooms. A terrace at this level serves as an outdoor recreational space, opening out to views of the surrounding countryside and reinforcing the home’s connection to its setting.
Openings are carefully sized and positioned to bring in abundant natural light while mitigating the harsh summer heat of Gandhinagar. Cavity walls are used throughout to improve thermal performance, ensuring comfortable interior spaces even during extreme weather conditions.
